Museums and tourist destinations continue to offer visitors options that tailor the visit to specific needs and desires. From what we see, customisation will continue to be in high demand. The attention economy we find ourselves in makes us increasingly choosy and our expectations on any experience continue to grow ever higher.

Workshop: Collecting Social Photo

We joined a two-day workshop by Collecting Social Photo hosted by Nordiska museet, about –as the name suggests- collecting social digital photographs, from the perspective of a museum.

  • How do we get a wide and accurate representation of social media photography into the museum archives?
  • What role do museums have in collecting social photos?

The mix of participants; museum professionals, researchers and us (tech providers), from Sweden, Finland, England and Australia was very enjoyable. We split into groups and presented new and exciting ideas, keeping the GDPR regulations and Instagram’s restrictive API in the back of our minds
