Trollhättan

#gotrollhättan is the place brand of the Swedish city Trollhättan. A brand created to strengthen the image of Trollhättan as an attractive place to live, visit, work and study in. The municipality collaborated with the Visit company and Innovatum Science Centre to create a broad app that targets residents of the city as much as visitors. An app that gathers everything that makes Trollhättan attractive under one roof.

Challenge

Trollhättan wanted to create an app that would function as one single well-polished and well-stocked shop window for all of Trollhättan. An app that targets individuals as well as business life and that blurs the line between visitors and residents.

The most important aspects when choosing their technical supplier was a flexible system and that the app could easily be adapted to strengthen Trollhättan as an attractive place to live, visit, work and study.

Solution

To accomodate Trollhättan’s wishes for broader content, OnSpotStory has developed the platform in several ways. The design and navigation of the app have been adapted to a large and varied content by adding a bottom menu and categories with several levels of subcategories. New types of categories have been added as well as the possibility to display these as “sliders”.

In addition to a large number of guided tours, information on everything from where to find activities, restaurants, hotels, conference facilities to jobs and events, the #gotrollhättan app also provides tips on seasonal experiences and where to find the city’s best kissing spots!

A first version of the app #gotrollhättan was launched in May 2021. During the fall of 2021 a ghost tour with Augmented Reality was added just in time for Halloween.

To develop the app together with OnSpotStory has really been a super exciting and creative process and completely in line with our vision of being an innovative city for the future.
